Academy Tutor Stephanie O'Connor

Stephanie began her career as a Veterinary nurse while developing her grooming skills in parallel. She opened her bespoke salon almost 25 years ago and during that time has also completed the Level 3 Diploma in Dog Styling through City & Guilds and more recently gained her Internationally Certified Master Groomer qualification through IPG. Steph is passionate about the unique Asian Fusion grooming style and has developed her skill set by completing comprehensive training with Pammie Carmichael-Hogg and the Dolall Grooming School in South Korea. I have been twice nominated for Asian Fusion Groomer of the Year and was invited to judge the Asian Fusion group in 2021 Groomers Got Talent competition in Belfast. I enjoy competing at both open and championship level. Here are some recent highlights: 2023 - 1st Place Clipped Champion class - Groomers Got Talent 2022 - Asian Open Scissors class at Madra Mania 2019 - Reserve Best in Show and 1st place Asian Champion class at the County Grooming Championships

FAQ

  • Who can take this qualification?

If you have a level 3 dog grooming qualification from iPET Network, City & Guilds, OCN, or the ICMG CAPG or 2 years of full-time grooming experience then you are eligible to join.

  • Where will I study?

This is an online course so you can study wherever is comfortable for you. You will need a computer or tablet and a good Wi-Fi connection to watch the videos and attend the tutorials.

  • I'm going on holiday in the middle of the course, is that a problem?

Whilst it's not ideal, everything is recorded so you can catch-up when you're back.

  • How many dogs will I need to groom?

Your assessment is based on one groom at the end of the study period BUT we strongly recommend you try to plan in 2 wool coats each week for practice.
